The third part of Robert Hood's "Red Passion" trilogy, freshly remastered by Thomas Heckmann, is released on vinyl in December as part of M-Plant's ongoing Perpetual Masters series.
"Red Passion III" is another masterclass in the stripped-back intensity and hypnotic precision that define the Detroit techno pioneer's unmistakable sound. Originally released in 1999 on his Duet imprint, the record embodies Hood's ability to extract maximum energy from minimal elements. Relentless rhythms, tight percussion and hypnotic repetition create a raw sense of urgency, while subtle shifts in the arrangement keep the music in motion. With its uncompromising quality,it demonstrates once again why Hood remains one of techno's most influential architects.
