Robi Insinna is a DJ, artist and producer. His Headman Project has already released five EPs and the Album ˜It Rough™, receiving universal acclaim, whilst his other alter-ego ˜Manhead™ has featured on his own Relish imprint and Trevor Jackson™s Output. Following the success of the album, Robi has DJed in Paris, London, Berlin and New York and has been very busy with remix duties. His punk-funk remix for Seelenluft's "Manila" attained ˜Single Of The Month™ status in the Spring 2002 issue of Dazed And Confused and he has also remixed Coloursound's ˜Fly With Me™ (City Rockers), Trash Palace (feat. Brian Molko of Placebo), Gina X™s ˜No GDM™ for Gigolo, Panash™s ˜Jack2Jack™ (Turbo), The Rapture, Radio 4, Yello and as featured here, Franz Ferdinand™s ˜Matinee™ (Domino). On top of everything else, Robi`s projects are extraordinary notably for their artwork: Each of his releases are designed by Robi himself, since he's also internationally respected as a painter and has been exhibiting all over Europe. Limited editions of sweaters and t-shirts featuring his motifs and works of art are available in selected boutiques in London and Paris. So expect to see more of the combination of his music and his artwork in the future. On Dance Modern Headman adroitly joins the dots from old to new, showcasing his depth of musical history and finely honed mixing skills. His selection effectively unites the post-Electroclash climate  newer cuts from artists such as Alter Ego, Mylo, Le Dust Sucker and Rex The Dog sit next to more band-based offerings from Chromeo and Franz Ferdinand, and the vaults are plundered with yesteryear flavours from Divine, Lene Lovich and New Fast Automatic Daffodils!
