Another almost forgotten gem from Belgian rock history brought back to life! Freckleface's self-titled (and only) album was recorded in just a few takes in the basement of a school in Ghent, released in a very limited edition in 1972, and quickly faded into obscurity. A shame, because it was not only an excellent folky blues album, but also marked the first collaboration between Arno Hintjens and Paul Couter — a historic precursor to Tjens Couter, TC Matic, and much more. This project laid the foundation for the Ostend connection, which also included Danny Willems, who, as an emerging photographer, took the cover photos. Arno, in his typical style, was masterful on vocals and harmonica, while Paul Couter, one of our most underrated guitarists, provided sophisticated guitar work. In short, Freckleface is a historic album that deserves to be listened to and talked about again.
